Impact of Child Protection Programme

  • Formed 71 adolescent groups with 1,450 adolescents.
  • Established a team called UFU (Unit For Us) with 329 adolescents and youths in 19 villages in Nayagram and Gopiballavpur-1 blocks of Jhargram district, focusing on protecting girl children and educating young children.
  • Prevented 122 child marriages with the help of the administration in East Medinipur, Jhargram, and South 24 Parganas districts.
  • Five Gram Panchayats allocated funds for child protection in their annual plans and took initiatives to raise public awareness about child protection.
  • Two representatives were nominated as state-level trainers for reorganizing and enhancing Child Protection Committees, training district-level teams in Jhargram, West Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, and South 24 Parganas.
  • Celebrated various commemorative days, including the committee's birthday, New Year, Spring Festival, Rabindra Jayanti, Independence Day, Republic Day, Raksha Bandhan, World Tuberculosis Day, Girl Child Day, World Anti-Human Trafficking Day, Environment Day, Children's Day, Teacher's Day, Forest Week, and more.
